Bold and Bright -- Fall colors in Stockholm

Sweden has distinct seasons and there is little confusion as to where they fall on the calendar.

A little color on a dreary, rainy day

It was snowing sideways when our plane landed on January 25th.  It alternated between very dark and very white (snow) during those wintery days. When Spring finally decided to roll around, we were treated to the most beautiful flowers with bright colors popping up in the green grass.  Summer really accelerated the photosynthesis process with long sunny days where the sun would set around 10pm. The grass and the trees knew what was up because they were the deepest green I've ever seen. We would walk around the parks and just soak
in all of the color.  It's like the plants know that as soon as they bloom, they have a 3 month window of making food and then it's lights out for a while.

We are currently in Fall and it is so beautifully obvious.  The trees have started shedding their leaves just about as quickly as they turn from green to yellow, orange or red.  If only the days were sunny, the colors would really pop but you can tell they are still vibrant.  I took a picture of Calvin today in front of some red trees, sent it to Jon and received a text back asking if the trees were on fire.  And this was taken on a cloudy day!

The plants are getting ready to hibernate for the winter and I'm beginning to think they may be onto something.  Sweden continues to impress me with how beautiful it is in each season but it leaves me with only one question, "where are my sweatpants and socks?"

On fire, right?

So much color!
